Animal Policy
Everything we wished people understood about living with pets in shared communities, we wrote here.
1. Living together with animals (the foundation)
1.1. Why this policy exists
Pets make communities better. They bring companionship, safety, and life to shared spaces.
But they also require responsibility.
This policy exists to balance both sides:
the joy of having pets
the reality of shared living
Our goal is simple:
safe, respectful, and pet-friendly environments where everyone can coexist.
1.2. What “responsible pet ownership” means here
By having a pet in this community, you agree to:
Keep your pet under control at all times in common areas
Clean up immediately after your pet (no exceptions)
Ensure your pet does not pose a risk to others
Respect noise, hygiene, and shared spaces
Follow all local laws and building rules
This isn’t about restriction.
It’s about trust between neighbors.
1.3. Registration & identification
All pets must be:
Registered with the building and/or platform (e.g., PawFred profile)
Linked to a valid owner/responsible guardian
Properly identified (tag, NFC tag, or legally required ID)
Optional but strongly recommended:
Up-to-date photo
Emergency contact
Medical notes (allergies, conditions)
This ensures that if something happens, your pet can always be traced back to safety quickly.
1.4. Health & vaccination requirements
For the safety of all animals and residents:
Pets must follow local vaccination requirements
Flea/tick prevention is strongly encouraged
Sick or contagious animals must not enter shared areas
We may request proof of:
Vaccinations
Licensing
Veterinary records (when relevant)
2. Behavior & safety rules (non-negotiable)
2.1. Aggression and dangerous behavior
Pets that show:
Repeated aggression toward people or animals
Uncontrolled biting or chasing
Threatening behavior in shared areas
may be subject to:
Mandatory corrective measures
Restricted access to common areas
Removal from the community (in severe cases)
Safety always comes first.
2.2. Leash and control rules
Unless explicitly stated otherwise:
Dogs must be on a leash in all common areas
No off-leash activity in hallways, lobbies, elevators, or parking areas
Cats and other animals must be safely contained or controlled
Even “friendly” pets must follow this.
Not everyone is comfortable around animals.
2.3. Noise and disturbances
You are responsible for ensuring your pet does not:
Bark excessively
Create ongoing disturbances
Disrupt neighbors’ ability to enjoy their homes
If complaints are received:
You may be asked to take corrective action
Continued issues may lead to penalties or restrictions
2.4. Cleanliness and hygiene
You must:
Pick up waste immediately
Dispose of it properly (no bags left behind)
Prevent odors or unsanitary conditions
Failure to do so may result in:
Fines
Loss of pet privileges in shared areas
3. Shared spaces & community use
3.1. Pet-friendly areas
Pets are allowed only in designated areas.
These may include:
Outdoor paths
Designated pet zones
Specific elevators or access routes
Restricted areas may include:
Gyms
Pools
Children’s play areas
Food preparation areas
3.2. Elevators, hallways, and lobbies
When using shared indoor spaces:
Keep pets close and under control
Yield space when others are uncomfortable
Avoid crowding or blocking passage
Small actions here make a huge difference.
3.3. Incidents and reporting
If an incident occurs (bite, fight, injury, etc.):
You must:
Report it immediately
Provide accurate and honest information
Cooperate with any review process
False or misleading reports are taken seriously.
4. Liability and responsibility
4.1. Owner responsibility
You are fully responsible for:
Your pet’s behavior
Any damage caused
Any injury to people or other animals
This includes:
Property damage
Medical costs
Legal consequences
4.2. Insurance (recommended)
We strongly recommend that pet owners carry:
Personal liability insurance
Coverage for animal-related incidents
Some communities may require this.
5. Enforcement (how rules are applied)
5.1. Warnings and violations
If rules are not followed, actions may include:
Verbal or written warning
Fines or penalties
Temporary restrictions
Permanent removal of pet privileges
5.2. Severe or repeated violations
In serious cases, including:
Aggressive incidents
Repeated negligence
Safety risks
The community may require:
Immediate removal of the pet
Additional legal action (if applicable)
6. Final principles
We keep this simple:
Respect your neighbors
Protect your pet
Take responsibility seriously
If everyone does their part, we don’t need strict enforcement —
just a community that works.
